Why I do this work

When I became a mother, I believed feeding my child would be the easiest part of parenting.

Food has always been at the centre of my life and career. As a professionally trained chef, I worked on well-known TV shows, and yet my own son only ate 10 foods.

I realised knowing how to cook was not the same as knowing how to help a child eat.

Two questions kept coming back to me: why had my son become a picky eater, and how could I help him?

That search led me to America, where I trained with one of the world’s leading specialists in paediatric feeding.

For the first time, I began to understand what was causing his picky eating and how to help him.

When I put everything I had learnt into practice with my own son, he started eating new foods. Foods I never thought possible were now on his plate, and we were finally sitting at the table eating together.

It honestly felt like a dream come true.

Soon after, I began helping my first group of fussy eating kids. That’s them in the photo at the top of the page.

I know the worry, guilt and exhaustion that comes with feeding a child who won’t eat.

Later, I went back to college and was awarded a Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Studies because I wanted to better support the parents living it too.

That experience led me to my purpose: helping parents understand their child’s picky eating and know what to do next.

Louise Lennox Signature with heart
